The 2 Left Feet Blues Festival

Saturday, Sept. 12th, Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort, Middlefield, Ct. Gates open at 9AM

The 2 Left Feet Blues Festival is proud to announce it’s entertainment lineup for its 2015 show. This year’s festival will be held at its new location, Powder Ridge Mountain Park and Resort, centrally located in Middlefield, Ct. The 2 Left Feet Blues Festival will take place on Saturday, September 12th.

This year’s headliner will be 2014 John Nemeth. John won the 2014 Soul Blues album of the year for Memphis Grease , and has been recording and touring for over a decade. He has backed legendary Blues artists Junior Watson, as well as Anson Funderburgh. John has also opened for Robert Cray, Keb’ Moand Earl Thomas.

What do you get when you combine three extremely talented musicians such as Scott Holt, Eli Cook, and Eddie Turner? The Electrix! This powerhouse trio of guitarists has joined forces to rock venues across the country. At age 19, Scott Holt joined his friend and mentor, legendary Blues guitarist, Buddy Guy, and toured with him for over ten years. Collectively, Holt,Cook andTurner have worked with The Otis Taylor Band, The James Gang, Johnny Winter, Robert Cray, Parliament Funkdelic, Gary Clark Jr, and Roomful of Blues.

Biscuit Miller and the Mix bring a serious serving of the funky blues to the stage at The 2 Left Feet Blues Festival. Currently on the road supporting his album Blues with a Smile, Biscuit is a high energy bassist as well as a top notch vocalist. Biscuit earned the Blues Music award for Bassist of the Year in 2012, and continues to bring the party wherever he goes.

The 2 Left Feet Blues Festival is also thrilled to have The Georgia SongbirdEG Kight appearing as well. Ms. Kight has recorded seven albums to date, and has performed with everyone fromGeorge Jones, Koko Taylor to B.B. King and Merle Haggard.

Balkun Brothers have been voted ‘Best Blues Band” two years running by CtNow.com, as well as winning that award at The Connecticut Music Awards. Combining traditional Delta and electric blues while adding in a bit of modern rock and some serious funky grooves, Balkun Brothers bring their own unique style of blues everywhere they go. Just this summer alone, they have played over 40 venues, including stops in Maine, New York, Oklahoma, Missouri, Massachusetts, and here in Connecticut.

Since winning the 2012 Boston Blues Challenge, Gracie Curran and the High Falutin Band have been pouring on the accolades. Award nominations for “Best Blues Act” include 2013 & 2014 by the Boston Music awards, as well as the 2014 New England Music Awards. Gracie also earned a “Best New Artist” nomination at the 2014 Blues Music awards. Grace Curran & The High Falutin Band have also received rave reviews from around the world for their debut album, “Proof of Love”.

For decades The James Montgomery Band has been thrilling Blues fans in New England, as well as throughout the country with some of the best blues around. James has played with such masters as James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, and Junior Wells. James will be joined on stage at the 2 Left Feet Blues Festival with not only the Uptown Horns, but with special guest and blues legend—Grammy Award winning producer and collaborator with Johnny Winter—Paul Nelson Paul Nelson’s website

Orange Connecticut native, Shari Puorto returns home from the Left Coast to play at this year’s 2 Left Feet Blues Festival. Shari is a passionate performer, and she has been described as a combination of Etta James, Bonnie Rait and Melissa Etheridge. Oh, and her performances have been likened to those of Janis Joplin. The Two Left Feet Blues Festival is thrilled to host Shari on her return to her home State.

In 2005, Bill Shaka left the devastation of Katrina to return to his home State of Connecticut. New Orleans loss is definitely Connecticut’s gain. Upon returning, he quickly teamed up with guitarist Tony C and together, they have twice won the Connecticut Blues Challenge, and represented the State at The International Blues Challenge held in Memphis, Tn where they have advanced to the semi-final round! Stand by for some serious “swamp shakin” rhythm & Blues when Shaka & The Soul Shakers take the stage September 12th at Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort!

The 2 Left Feet Blues Festival is a 501(c)3 organization is dedicated to supporting The Blues as an American art, but also the musicians who perform it. Proceeds to benefit The Musicians Lifeline, which provides assistance to Connecticut musicians in need, as well as The Music Now Foundation. The Music Now Foundation is dedicated to the support of live music to engage, enrich and educate youth through workshop programming, performance opportunities and musical mentorships.
