3 People Arrested on Shoplifting Charges at Crystal Mall

Waterford police said $2,821 in merchandise was allegedly stolen.

Merchandise allegedly stolen from the Crystal Mall on Tuesday, June 2, was enough to fill several tables.

Waterford Police Department officers arrested three women on a multitude of charges.

“As a result of the arrest and further investigation, $2,821.25 of merchandise has been recovered,” police wrote via Facebook. “Numerous items are still in question as to which store they were stolen from. Many items are believed to be from stores outside of the Crystal Mall.”

Pictured above is the merchandise recovered, the alleged shoplifting devices and the three subjects arrested. They were each later released on a $2,500 surety bond, with a court date scheduled in New London on June 16th.

Deanisha Pierce of Stratford was arrested on the following charges:

  • Charges: Conspiracy To Commit 53a-48 C.G.S.
  • Larceny Third Degree 53a-124 C.G.S.
  • Possession of Shoplifting Device 53a-127f C.G.S.

Leenice Pierce of Stratford was arrested on the following charges:

  • Conspiracy To Commit 53a-48 C.G.S.
  • Larceny Third Degree 53a-124 C.G.S.
  • Possession of Shoplifting Device 53a-127f C.G.S.
  • Operating Under Suspension 14-215 C.G.S.
