50 Year Watertown Resident Passed Away on March 27

The retired from the Air Force, former custodian and 32nd degree Mason was remembered Monday with full military honors.

O.L. Elkins Jr., 92, of Jason Avenue, died Friday, March 27, 2015, at Apple Rehab. He was the husband of Annette (Daddona) Elkins.

Mr. Elkins was born in Emhouse, Texas, September 2, 1922, son of the late Oscar and Nellie Mae (Owen) Elkins. After 22 years of service, he retired from the Air Force in 1962. He was a Watertown resident for over 50 years, and was employed by the Watertown Board of Education as a custodian at the high school for many years before retiring from that position. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Waxahachie Masonic Lodge #90 in Texas.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Norman Elkins of Watertown; a daughter, Susan Clements of San Antonio, Tx.; six grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Pauline Raye; his daughter, Margaret Gray; and his daughter-in-law, Kathy Elkins.

Friends may call at the Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Monday 4 – 7 p.m. Military honors will take place at 7 p.m.
