8-Year-Old Waterford Boy Honored for Good Deed

Waterford Police Officer David Anderson was also honored for his service.

Awards and retirement badge presented to Officer First Class David Anderson.

Awards were presented at tonight’s [June 8] Police Commission meeting. The first award was presented to Giovanni Facchinni, the 8-year-old boy chronicled here for turning in a wallet filled with cash in to the Police Department. Giovanni was presented with the Chief’s coin, an award certificate, and a shoulder patch.

Next, retired Traffic Officer First Class David Anderson received his Elks Officer of the Year award. Officer Anderson was given the award due to his longstanding excellence in the Department’s Traffic Office.

Finally, the Police Commission presented Officer Anderson with his retirement badge. Officer Anderson then gave a heartfelt speech to the Police Commission. Best of luck Dave, and congratulations to Gio!
