Alleged Fatal Hit-and-Run Driver Enters Plea at Arraignment
Quaker Hill resident James Sposito, 25, is accused of driving the car that killed Connecticut College student Ahmad Anique Ashraf, 20.

Quaker Hill resident James Sposito, 25, pleaded not guilty in court Thursday in connection with the the December hit-and-run car accident that killed Connecticut College student Ahmad Anique Ashraf, 20.
The incident occurred in the overnight hours on Dec. 18 of last year in New London on Route 32 northbound.
Sposito was arrested on a warrant just over a month later.

He was charged with:
- Manslaughter in the Second Degree
- Misconduct with a Motor Vehicle
- Tampering with a Witness
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Evading Responsibility in Operation of a Motor Vehicle
The Day reports that as part of his plea, Sposito is not allowed to drive without a valid license.
