One National Retailer To Replace Another At Waterford Shopping Plaza

A national chain will only have one location in the state left after its Waterford store closes, according to reports.

WATERFORD, CT — Lane Bryant is closing its Waterford location this week. A new tenant is already in line to replace the plus-size women's clothing store, as The Connecticut Scoop reported.

The 915 Hartford Turnpike store will close permanently Saturday, Aug. 15. That will leave just one Lane Bryant location left in the state in North Haven.

However, the space at Waterford Commons won't be empty for long as Men's Wearhouse has signed a long-term lease for the space, according to The Connecticut Scoop. The retailer will renovate the space with plans to move in late this year or early 2027.

Waterford officials said that a sign permit for Men's Wearhouse has been filed, one of several filings the retailer will need to make before it can open, according to Hearst Connecticut Media.

Previously, Men's Wearhouse was located at the Crystal Mall in Waterford. The chain has 10 other locations in the state.
