Armed Robbery Suspect Sought in Theft From Groton Walmart: Police

Waterford police are assisting after a man allegedly demanded money from the customer service desk and implied he had a gun, police said.

Groton Police responded to Walmart, 150 Gold Star Highway, for an armed robbery report that allegedly occurred at 12:24 p.m. Sunday, July 19.

“Responding officers learned that a white male had entered the store and approached the Customer Service Desk,” Lt. John W. Varone said in a press release. “The white male then demanded money and implied that he had a gun. The white male then fled to a car parked in the parking lot and fled Westbound on Gold Star Highway,”

Police said no gun was displayed and no one was injured. The suspect allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of money.
