Berklee Jazz Festival

The Waterford High Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Choir performed in competition at the 2014 Berklee High School Jazz Festival in Boston.

The Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Choir both placed 7th in their divisions. Divisions are based on school enrollment just like the state sports divisions. Ensembles from all over the United States compete.

The WHS Jazz Ensemble was the highest scoring Connecticut band in their division, while the WHS Jazz Choir came in second only to the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts.

The following video was assembled by a Waterford High student to show what the day looks like. Not only do the WHS students perform in competition, but they also attend clinics, and attend concerts throughout the day.
