40 Years Or Younger, You Should Pay Attention

Many of you don't pay a lot of attention to federal legislation. We, the over-55ers, didn't pay attention when we were your age. We apologize to you for that lack of attention.

Your home and your savings have lost around 30% of their value. When you fill up your SUV and it costs you around $100 and when you shop for food and find it another $25-$30 dollars a week, it really hurts. Neighbors losing jobs and moving away, and local merchants who are hanging on for dear life are a fact of today's life.

Who or what's to blame for this? Depending on who you ask the odds are pretty good you'll get a lot of finger pointing, some personality or political party bashing.

The truth is you are paying the price for your lack of interest, and we're sharing the pain as a consequence of our lack of interest. If both of our groups had educated ourselves as we should have, we would have been much more careful in our choice of candidates to vote for.

You and I, our kids, and their kids, share in a federal debt of just over $70,000.00 each, with another $13,600.00 for each of us in our share of state debt. The administration we elected, has spent more in the last 3 years and accrued more debt than every administration in history combined.

Our form of government offers you the opportunity to educate yourselves, learn the facts, don't believe what the elected officials tell you, unless you can prove to yourself that what they say is true. Doing this will lead you to make choices that are in your country's best interest, in your own families' best interest.

It's the only way, you have to exert control over own future. Use it wisely, that right you have to do this is in itself a national treasure.
