I hope you can end my problem. Every day, I get home from school/work, and finish my chores. After that, I either watch TV or go on the computer. I really want to find something to do in my spare time other than being a couch potato. What should I do?

Lazy and Bored

---

Dear Lazy,

As you know, there are many things to do in Waterford. There is so many options that I am sure I could at least name a few for you to try.

First, you should try an afterschool activity, whether it be track or chess club. If you don't find anything that you are interested in after school hours, and you are feeling like you want to get outside more, perhaps try a sport such as soccer, baseball or tennis.

You could also go running in your free time by yourself. If you go onto Google Maps, and find small roads without too much traffic, running could be a good escape from the rest of the world, and being alone while exercising could boost your mood with all of that serotonin coursing through you.

Do you enjoy the beach? Now that the weather is getting up in the high 70's and even 80's, the beach could be the perfect place for you to hang for a while. If you live close to Harkness Park, you could get your exercise and your tanning in before you start putting on all of that cheeseburger and hotdog goodness into your diet.

So you see, there are many, many things that you could do; you just have to go searching for them.
