Household Hazardous Waste Collection

This Saturday - May 7, 2011 - there will be a Household Hazardous Waste Collection at New London High School parking lot from 9:00 - 1:00.  This collection is sponsored by the Southeastern Connecticut Regional Resource Recovery Authority and is open to Waterford residents as well as all surrounding towns in Southeastern Connecticut. 

Items that are accepted include Oil based Paints and stains; paint thinner; drain cleaners varnish; photographic chemicals; nail polish remover; oven cleaners; toilet bowl cleaners; rechargeable batteries.  Other items that are accepted are - Kerosene; insecticides; pool chemicals; herbicides; rat poison; moth balls; fungicides; round up and more.  Please check the Town of Waterford web site for a complete list of items.

Items that are not accepted are LATEX paint; tires; ammunition/gun powder; auto/marine flares and radioactive materials (smoke detectors, etc.)
