Hurricane Irene - Announcement from Waterford Utility Commission

Due to the potential loss of electric power, the Utility Commission (Sewer Department) kindly request from its customers to minimize the use of water during and after the hurricane, until power is restored.  It is highly recommended that chores such as dish washing and laundry be done before the storm.  This is especially important to those sewer customers with individual grinder pumps.  Our staff will be available to temporarily energize and empty those grinder pump tanks currently owned and maintained by our department.   Due to significant number of grinder pumps under our responsibility, this service will be provided on a 24-hours cycle, if necessary.
