Ireland Calling! ~ Stepping into Summer Slideshow

As June draws to a close, I would like to bring you my Ireland Calling! Slideshow for the month http://wp.me/p1ip9d-z4. Photography is one of my passions and living in lovely Co. Waterford provides me with endless opportunities to capture the beauty of Ireland as we move through the seasons.

During the last month, I have travelled a good deal between Waterford and Dublin - just over 100 miles - and have included a number of shots from the various counties along the way, including Wicklow - which is known as 'the Garden of Ireland.'

Ireland is a country which is hugely interested in sport and the big event for us in Co. Waterford was the victory of our county team in the early stages of the National Hurling Championship. Other events were the European Soccer Championships which had the whole country glued to television screens as we played very tough games against Croatia, Italy and Spain. 

There is also great pride in our golfers, including Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell, who are performing so well in American and Europe.

There  is huge anticipation, too, about the fact that the Olympic Games are being hosted in London which is so close to Ireland.  No doubt many Americans will be travelling to support the American team and hopefully Ireland will be included on the itinerary!
