Is the Internet Ending?

With SOPA and PIPA supposedly out of the way what will ACTA entail on censoring the internet?

With all of the notorious bills to "censor the Internet," two questions come to mind. Will the Internet be censored? And if so what effects will the "censor" have on all of our favorite websites?

The latest attempt to censor the Internet is ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement.) ACTA is hoping to put in place international standards for Intellectual Property (IP). Basically ACTA is trying to enforce laws against piracy.

While some may say that this infringes our First Amendment and others say it protects property rights. The reason behind people thinking it infringes the First Amendment is because they may think that posting online is a form of speech, which is most likely correct. But does that mean that uploading illegal files is protected? I think not, those files are not yours to upload. But I am not heavily for or heavily against ACTA at this time.

So my question is what do you, the public, think of ACTA? Should it be voted in? Could it possibly affect news sites like Patch, The Day, etc.? Should we, the public, have a say in it's being voted in? Comment your answer.
