July 2011 - Sewer Use Charge Bill

To Our Valued Customers:

By now you may have received the July 2011 sewer use charge bill.  This is our first billing with a new software intended to provide more detailed information regarding the sewer use charges.  This software also allows us to generate and provide more accurate and reliable financial reports to the Town’s Finance Department. 

For the past four months, our staff and the software developer have channeled their efforts to insure that the migration of current and historic data from the old software to the new software is as accurate as possible.  Through each of the quality control steps, a total of 7,000 accounts were processed.

However, regardless of the efforts made, some data may have been converted with some errors that during our quality control process may have been missed.  Other errors may have occurred when the water consumption information for the July billing was incorporated into the new software.  We believe that no more than 50 out the total of 7,000 bills were affected.  

We sincerely apologize for that and further ask you to contact our office as soon as possible, if you believe there is an error in your bill.  If you are a water customer of the City of New London, please note that the consumption shown in the sewer bill should be the same as shown on your water bill from the City.
