Possible technological progresses and regresses predictions.

Technology has become a major part of life in the modern world. While technology has advanced through the years it also has had its fair share of problems and regresses.

One regress that is notable is within the Windows operating systems line. Windows XP was, and still is, one of the best operating systems ever created. When XP was released people had high expectations for the next OS. However, upon the release of Windows VISTA computer lovers began to lose faith in the systems as Vista was, in a nutshell, a unworthy OS to bear the Windows name. With all of that being said, Windows 7 definitely is a welcomed guest in the computer world. I hope this has shown you how regress has happened in the past of technology.

And now for my predictions... I think that Apple may be running into some trouble in the near future. Why? Because one of the main reasons people love Macs so much is that they rarely get attacked by viruses (but I think that because of this Macs have more non-attacking viruses on them than Windows due to carelessness of getting a virus.) But I think that with all of the games, apps, and other third party inventions for Mac that pretty soon somebody is going to find out how to make viruses effectively attack the system. And, if this does happen, Macs will lose popularity and Linux will rise higher. However, Apple still has iPods, iPads and other products that are near impossible to beat.

I also predict that the internet will lose popularity based on how ACTA, SOPA, and PIPA are attacking it. There are a few web sites I think will keep on going though (i.e. Facebook, Youtube, sites associated with them, and any other social networking site that gains in popularity.)
