Waterford Police receives Special Olympic Award

Waterford Police receive Special Olympic Award.

The Waterford Police Department received a commemorative plaque from the Connecticut Special Olympics for raising more than $2,500 in donations in a ceremony conducted in South Windsor on Feb. 16th, 2012. Special Olympics benefit individuals with intellectual disabilities. Pictured are Officer David Anderson and Officer Nicole VanOverloop with the plaque. 

Anderson and VanOverloop spearheaded the efforts that raised $3,400 in donations, including selling paper torches, the "Tip-A-Cop" dinner held at Filomena's restaurant and other donations received throughought the year.
