Waterfords and the Seasons

As we move from August to September and Summer to Autumn, Waterford Ireland is calling out to Waterford CT. Enjoy my Ireland Calling! Slideshow.

I am writing from my home in the town of Tramore in sunny Co. Waterford in Ireland and my mind is very much on the fact that we are leaving Summer behind and moving into Autumn.

I produce a monthly slideshow, Ireland Calling!, and have just been looking at my August production  http://wp.me/p1ip9d-FO  .  August was a hectic month in Ireland and here in Co. Waterford we were treated to some wonderful views of the changing moods of the sea and National Heritage Week brought a great walk around the medieval walls of Waterford City. They are truly amazing and we now have a newly opened Medieval Museum in Waterford which is state of the art but brings one back to a very different time in what is the oldest city in Ireland.

I hope you enjoy your Public Holiday in Waterford CT. It feels like the whole of America is in Ireland this weekend as Notre Dame is playing football against the Navy and at least 35,000 Americans have flown in for the occasion.

September holds lots of magic for us here in Co. Waterford. We have a big Harvest Festival in Waterford City and Tramore will be celebrating the 'official' end of the summer season with the Surf and Sea Festival which includes a haunting procession during which a huge seaweed doll is cast into the sea. More about all this anon!

I'd love to hear your thoughts about this cusp between August and September and Summer and Autumn from your perspective in Waterford CT. By the way, are you enjoying the stunning moon that is glowing over Tramore Bay these nights?
