Zoom Zoom, Slow down Baby! We'll get there....I think??
I don't read the "Dummies Series" because I'm not a dummy.
I'm no dummy. I am sure whomever is reading this isn't either. Yet, I wonder, do you? If it's too late?
Have we digitally mastered our ways into a world full of "no brain cells required" to operate?. Minus, the creators of our conveniences. Have we reached the pinnacles of, "let's see how far and fast we can take this baby," vehicle syndrome?
We are no longer moved by atrocious acts and our cups are overflowing. Could it be too hot to touch the handle and pour out what is not needed in the game of survival?

Is it just me. Possibly. I was raised inside of a bubble. I don't think so. Allow me my thoughts and space for blogging right now. When someone got shot, or died of a self-inflicted overdose of any kind - SHOCK! - was the feeling I felt. Yet today, the more violent the video game or the crime, it's going to get months long media revivals and make loads of cash based on the severity of the game or the event. Casey Anthony is much richer now than she probably ever imagined. Though I'm sure she has imagined the insanity of her case will bring her much needed revenue.
Clarity and hope seem to be a glimpse. Lives are dismantling right before our eyes everyday. Yet there are still people like myself, who believe that the family name should hold value, dignity and loyalty. I still believe there is some united, (yet, unspoken) patriotism for our fellow commrades. But GOOD GOD ALL MIGHTY! Doc isn't there anything you can do? "Operations to salvage any remains of life as we once knew is irretrievable." I believe would be the response. Though, I am still reluctant to totally agree.

Stepping back I remember when having to invent and be creative was a huge part of my childhood. Seeing yards filled with kids, the neighbors kids, and the kids from across town, screaming, running, playing tag and empty plastic water cups and popsicle wrappers were strewn about. Practically the only thing we really would get yelled at for was sneaking to turn on the watering hose; but the knob always squeaked and mom had ears that could hear over fire sirens. Lunch consisted of a sandwich, State Line Salted Potato Chips and a jug of juice. Afternoons were somber, as we awaited darkness to arrive so we could play hide and go seek. I think the game's name has been re-invented and has now become "Man Hunt" where the whole gang is out to get you if you are the last to be sought after. It use to be for us, where you sat on the porch or the sidewalk once found. It was every man for him or herself. Our house was for sleeping and washing up during the summer months.
Where are we now? I hear nothing. I don't see bikes, baseballs, footballs, frisbees, and when did we stop producing kids? Are they going from diapers to Depends are they too lazy to use the bathroom because they're glued to their video games, I-phones, and texting on the hour "I'm bored, Someone! Text Me!"? The beaches, the mall and the casino, (yes, the casino), the greatest and coolest hot spots for teens in the area. Overall the casino beats out the other two places based on the constant "action" effects. There are bright lights, tobacco and alcohol smell, winners screaming, the constant smell of food, music and TV. It's a wonder mall, not the wonder of it all. There is nothing to imagine or wonder. I'm not speaking for all young adults, though it is a considerable amount that can relate and fit this description in relation to. I never saw shorts that would fit my two-year-old neice also being sold in the junior section. I never saw empty ball and tennis courts, monkey bars, slides, and parks. I never saw parents mowing and maintaining the yards, while the teens sipped energy drinks and text again,"I'm soooooo bored". I never saw parents going completely out of their way to supply the things their children don't really need. My parents would laugh in my face. You want a what? HA! Now that's funny. Do you have a job? You should become a comedian kid. OR it was just a flat out NO! and I accepted it. Why? because I was the child and my parents were no joke. They worked hard, they instilled value, family time, and education. Yes. Not all children had this "advanced" upbringing, and that is unfortunate, but those I encountered in my youth did. I didn't have a swimming pool, a large home, or even my own car to drive by the time I got my drivers license. I wore hand-me-downs, and have three older brothers who laughed when mom would say, those jeans are just fine dear. Okay. Shrug. Off to play or do whatever was on my agenda for the day, yes, kids back then had an agenda, we didn't have time to be bored.
Both my parents worked, and we knew what time we had to get up, have breakfast, and lunch, and what time we needed to be inside of the house. We had chores, homework, and yardwork. If my mother came home to dishes in the sink, my father would ask "When did we hire a maid and why didn't they come in today"? My father would say your luxuries are in the roof I provide, the heat, the lights, and the food on the table.
We are running out of land, out of money and running out of time. Why time?
Soon enough, if Americans do not get back to basics and instilling education, forthright determination, listening to wisdom as well as teaching morality it won't be other Americans who are telling you how it shall be done. Our country is losing it's grip. History has a way of repeating itself. Except next time it may be all Americans who are left holding and reading "What You Should Have Done" for Dummies.
America is the Land of the Free. America is a great country. We know this, because everyone is trying to get here, and the one's that come here are taking advantage of the opportunities they could never have imagined in their country. We Americans are smart, (though spoiled) but we're smart. *wink *wink Let's keep it that way.
