The Community Dance Ensemble - based in Quaker Hill, CT. - recently held auditions for the 2019-2020 season. The following dancers from southeastern Connecticut were selected for the performing company: Megan Banach, Sarah Banach, Bailey Barousse, Alexa Beams, Phoebe Bowen, Beatrice Cox, Nicole Doty, Maggie Folmer, Molly Gans-Pomerantz, Lana Green, Madilynn Gruss, Hadley Huebner, Natalie Kohrs-Monroe, Amélie Kydd, Chenin Lee, Emily Peckham, Joelle Redman, and Hayley Peckham.
The Community Dance Ensemble, under the direction of Maggie and Nancy Dennis, is a non-profit concert company which performs throughout New England for charitable and community organizations including hospitals, nursing homes, senior centers, and veterans’ homes. This season, the company will continue their commitment to service by providing holiday concerts at senior centers and hospitals throughout Connecticut.
The CDE has also performed at the Shriners Hospital, Ronald McDonald House®, Walt Disney World® Resort, Hershey Park, and the Garde Arts Center. The dancers travel frequently to attend professional concerts and conventions and special educational opportunities such as the Rockette Experience at Radio City Music Hall, classes at Broadway Dance Center, and master classes with dancers from Broadway musicals such as Billy Elliot, Tarzan, and Hairspray.
