Community Seeks to Help Save Waterford Police Officer’s Christmas

After recently losing his father, house and dog, the community is looking to help a man and his family this Christmas.

WATERFORD, CT - A police officer is receiving support from the community after losing his father, house and dog, The Day reported.

James Dimmock is a Waterford police sergeant who trains K-9 officers for the department, according to The Day. The officer lost his father in October, and recently was the victim of a damaging Thanksgiving house fire in which his German shepard was killed.

An online fundraiser has been set up for the officer’s family, asking the public to help “save the Dimmock’s Christmas,” The Day reported. The GoFundMe page has raised $2,745 of a $10,000 goal as of Monday afternoon.
