'Controlled Substances' Sent Via Mail, Man Charged: Waterford Police

The accused is being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond, police said.

WATERFORD, CT — Umair Manzoor, 40, of Quaker Hill, is being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond and is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and three counts of unauthorized sale of a controlled substance, police said.

At 2:10 p.m. Thursday, Manzoor was charged on a warrant, police said.

"The investigation involved monitoring packages mailed and received that contained controlled substances," police said. "During the arrest, several additional controlled substances, which are not authorized for sale under Connecticut law, were seized. The investigation is ongoing."

The investigation involved cooperation with the United States Postal Service — Narcotics and Bulk Cash Trafficking Task Force and Groton Town Police Department, police said.
