Cops: Suspect In Bank Robbery Attempt Charged
A New London man has been charged in connection with the attempted robbery of the Charter Oak Bank in Waterford.

WATERFORD, CT — A note was handed to a bank teller at demanding money. When she walked away, the man took off.
Waterford Police, working with cops in New London, were able to track suspect James McKinnon, 58, and charge him with second-degree attempted robbery.
According to Waterford Police Lt. Marc Balestracci, at around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, police were called to a report of an attempted bank robbery at Charter Oak on Boston Post Road.

Balestracci said McKinnon took off before officers arrived. He said the suspect got no money and no gun was shown
He said working with New London Police, Waterford Police patrol officers and detectives were able to identify and find McKinnon about three hours later.

McKinnon, of 83 Mansfield Road, New London Connecticut, was taken into custody, charged and is being held on a $100,000 cash/surety bond.
