The 5 and 50 Bicycle Ride / Motorcycle Ride / Birthday and Campaign Pre-election Celebration

The 5 and 50 Celebration is a day long event that starts with a 50 Kilometer (appx. 31 mile) bicycle ride leaving from the Sunshine Road parking area at 8:00 a.m.

The route travels from Quaker Hill (the north end of town) to Camp Harkness (the south end of town) where we will meet up with members of the Mystic - Ledyard Special Olympics Team and ride for a short time with them.

The return trip from Camp Harkness takes you out along the Niantic River and then back up through the Cohanzie area into Quaker Hill.

This is followed by a 50 mile motorcycle ride at 12:00 p.m. that travels out of Quaker Hill into Montville then out through East Lyme into downtown Niantic where it comes back into Waterford over the Niantic River Bridge.  The route then winds its way across Waterford ending back in Quaker Hill.

If all goes well from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. there will be a chance to meet a First Selectman candidate for the Town of Waterford.  There will be a private party for a 5th birthday (my granddaughter) from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  This will be followed by an open invitation for cake and coffee to celebrate a 50th birthday (Kevin Ziolkovski's) and another chance to discuss town issues with a First Selectman candidate.

While this IS NOT A POLITICAL FUNDRAISER it is a chance for people to donate to one or all of 5 selected charities that we have helped out in the past.  From 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. there should be pancakes and coffee; from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. there should be banana's, granola, yogurt, peanut butter and jelly on whole wheat; at 6:00 p.m. there will be cake served.

If you are planning on attending please email DugBySummitTrail@aol.com or electkevinin2011@yahoo.com with the number of people coming and for which part of the day so that the logistics of parking, food prep, and participant staging can be worked out.  Thank you.
