Eversource Scam Targets Waterford Residents, Businesses
Police are warning the public to be wary of calls claiming electric bills are past due.

Another scam alert!
Waterford residents and businesses are being called and advised that the caller is a representative from Eversource power company. They are saying that the electric bill is past due and that unless the resident/business wires money today, they will be cutting the power off.

One small business was told they had to pay $900 by wiring money at Wal-Mart. When the business called the actual Eversource number, they were advised that the electric bill was not past due and that this was a scam.
We say it a lot, please don’t give out any personal or banking info by phone when you get called at home. Do what this business did and look up the real contact info and find out if the call you got was a scam attempt. So many of them are Scams.

The phone number on the caller ID for this scam was 203-684-3514. Often times numbers are obtained through the internet and are not owned by the callers.
