Waterford Man Charged As Fugitive From Justice: Police

Police said they received information regarding a suspected fugitive from Texas who was residing in Waterford.

WATERFORD, CT – Police said officers arrested a Waterford man on fugitive from justice charges Tuesday. According to a news release, the arrest was made after the department received information regarding a possible fugitive from Texas who was residing in Waterford.

Police said after further investigation officers found the Travis County Sheriff's Office in Texas held an active arrest warrant for Jason Edward Jones, 36, of Waterford on charges of first-degree escape from custody (felony). The warrant was extraditable, police said.

On Tuesday, members of the Waterford Police Department Investigative Services and Patrol Divisions conducted a surveillance of the area of the accused's residence. As a result, he was located and apprehended in a vehicle in a local parking lot, police said.

Police said the accused was arrested and charged with fugitive from justice. He was transported to the Waterford Police Department, where he was processed and fingerprinted.
