Get Out: Five Great Things To Do This Weekend

Because It's No Fun To Stay Home All Weekend

This is not the weekend to slump around your house and do your taxes. It’s just not. With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, we have some great Irish-themed events going on locally. That, and Elton John at Mohegan Sun. But, hey—just don’t blame us on Monday if you fall asleep at your desk or have no clean work clothes to wear. We’re not suggesting that you attend all these events. But we’ll be really impressed if you do.

1. 

WHERE/WHEN: Mohegan Sun Arena Friday at 8 p.m.

2. CONNECTICUT SPRING ANTIQUES SHOW

WHERE/WHEN: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.at the Connecticut Expo Center in Hartford.

WHY GO: You know you want to fill that empty space in the corner of your living room.

PRICING: Tickets are $10 at the gate and parking is free.

3.  AND  CONCERTS AT MOHEGAN SUN

WHERE/WHEN: Celtic Woman plays Saturday at 8 p.m. and Dropkick Murphys on Sunday at 7 p.m.

WHY GO: Put on some green, drink some Guinness and get to these shows!

PRICING: Tickets to Celtic Woman are $40 and $55 and tickets to Dropkick Murphys are $24.50.

WHERE/WHEN: Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Garde Arts Center in New London.

WHY GO: You love free concerts! And festive music. Win, win!

PRICING: Free.

WHERE/WHEN: Show kicks off on Sunday at 4 p.m. and runs daily through Thursday at the Cornerstone Playhouse in Mystic.

WHY GO: It’s sure to get you in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day.

PRICING: Tickets range from $15 to 32.95.
