Great Neck School's Time Capsule Opening Taking Place in September
Waterford's Great Neck Elementary School staff and students buried a time capsule in 1990 and it will be opened this month.

In 1990, the staff and students from Great Neck Elementary School buried a time capsule on the school grounds, the Waterford Schools website noted recently.
“In the years that followed, the original Great Neck School was demolished and a new structure built on the same site,” staff wrote. “The time capsule was carefully removed prior to construction and has been stored until the time came to open and reveal the very special contents.”
Twenty-five years have passed and the time capsule will be opened. A ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, in the Great Neck School cafeteria, 165 Great Neck Rd., Waterford.
