Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries (GWIM) a 501 C 3 charity is partnering once again with the Pontelandolfo Community Club for their 2nd Annual Fundraising dinner on June 6th, 2019. Doors open at 6 pm at the Ponte Club located at 380 Farmwood Rd. Waterbury, CT. A portion of the proceeds raised at this dinner will go to GWIM. Tickets are $30.00 for an amazing Italian feast featuring several courses: Hot & cold Hors D’oeuvres, Pasta Fagioli, Salad, Pasta with Meatballs and Soffritto, Pork Osso Bucco, Roasted Potatoes, and Wine.

GWIM has been in existence in the Greater Waterbury Community since 1954. Their mission is to feed the hungry working poor, children, and homeless in a respectful and dignified manner, and to empower the homeless and underprivileged. GWIM provides an array of services, including daily meals in their Soup Kitchen, an Emergency Food Pantry, a Children’s Center, and a Resource Center. The value placed on respecting each individual has shaped the visionary approach as to how the services are provided. Anyone who visits the GWIM Emergency Food Pantry will have the experience of shopping and making choices that are best for themselves and their families. GWIM is inspired and committed to making certain that the food pantry services could be provided in this manner.

The Ponte Club has generously partnered up with the local community to host these dinners 10 times a year to benefit various charities in the Waterbury community. This dinner in the month of June will feature GWIM. The committee for the Ponte Club dinners is comprised of Carl Mancini, Bob Guerrera, Chris Ciarlo, and Nick Perugini. Nick Perugini articulated well the committee’s mission in hosting these Ponte Club charity dinners: “By doing these dinner, we are helping the people that are helping the people in our community.”
