Here Are The 10 Most Dangerous Roads In Waterford

WATERFORD, CT - Waterford's most dangerous roadway over the past four years is Route 85 with almost 500 crashes. The UConn Connecticut Crash Data Repository has crunched data from The Department of Public Safety and the state Department of Transportation.

These are the most dangerous roads and routes during the last four years:

1. Route 85: 493

2. I-95: 339

3. Route 1: 326

4. Route 32: 306

5. Unknown: 141

6. Cross Road: 115

7. Route 395: 112

8. Route 156: 93

9. Clark Lane: 48

10. Route 213: 39

There were 6 fatal Waterford crashes, 32 with suspected serious injuries and 241 with suspected minor injuries. Overall there were 2,464 crashes between 2015 and halfway through December 2018.

There were more than 431,000 crashes crashes on Connecticut roads and highways between 2015 and Dec. 17, 2018, according to the repository. Of that 1,074 involved fatal injuries.

The top 10 routes for crashes in Connecticut from 2015 to 2018 are:

• I-84 (17,652)

About three-quarters of all crashes happened during dry conditions.
