I-95 Nighttime Milling And Paving Project To Begin In Waterford

Expect Delays: Here's when the nighttime milling and paving work on I-95 in Waterford is scheduled.

WATERFORD, CT — Nighttime milling and resurfacing work is scheduled to begin Sunday, Aug. 9, on Interstate 95 in Waterford, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

The project covers a 3.79-mile segment of I-95 from the I-395 interchange to 0.06 miles south of Exit 82, including ramps, according to the department. The work is scheduled to be completed Friday, Sept. 11, and will be performed by Waters Construction Co. Inc.

Motorists can expect lane closures on I-95 between the I-395 interchange and just south of Exit 82. Traffic control personnel, crash attenuator vehicles and signs will guide drivers through the work zone, according to the department.

The nighttime work schedule is 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Sunday evening to Friday morning. Work is scheduled to end at 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, and resume at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, because of the Labor Day holiday.

The department said schedule changes or extensions may be needed because of weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed in the area.
