Kindergarten Registration To Begin Feb. 3
Documents required include the child's birth certificate, health physicals, and proof of residency.
WATERFORD, CT — The time has come. The little ones will soon be off to school.
Open registration for incoming Waterford Public Schools kindergartners begins the week of Feb. 3 for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year when parents/guardians may pick up registration forms.
The kindergarten registration documentation required, according to the office of the superintendent, includes:

Child’s Birth Certificate - Connecticut law requires public schools to be open to all
children who reach the age of 5 on or before the first of January of any school year.
Physical Examination Form - completed and signed by the child's doctor, dated within
12 months of the date of entry into school.

Proof of Residency - per Board of Education Policy 5118 which includes a valid lease or
mortgage.
Kindergarten registration packets are available at any one of the three elementary schools
during the school day from 8:45 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The school district asks that in order to help in "projecting enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year, parents are asked to return registration paperwork to the school by March 2," but incoming kindergarten students can continue to register after the March 2 date at all of the elementary schools.
