Large Business Plans To Construct Waterford Location
A members-only store has submitted plans to the town to build on a vacant lot.
WATERFORD, CT — Restaurant Depot, a wholesale foodservice supplier, is planning to open a location in Waterford.
The company submitted plans to the town for the construction of a new store at 161 Waterford Parkway North.
The Design Review Board heard the proposal at a recent meeting. The board unanimously approved a motion to "request that the applicant submit an optional rendering that would provide a more visually appealing appearance on the building," according to the meeting minutes.

The project will also have to be approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The 45,447-square-foot building would be constructed on a vacant lot between Walmart and Lowes, according to The Connecticut Scoop.

Restaurant Depot is a members-only store offering food, equipment and supplies.
"We have been supplying independent food businesses with quality products from large cash and carry warehouse stores since 1990," its website reads. "We became the leading low-cost alternative to other foodservice suppliers by eliminating the overhead of a traditional distributor, focusing on the needs of independent foodservice operators and offering free membership."
Restaurant Depot has locations in Connecticut in Hartford, Orange, and Waterbury. The company is planning other locations in Orlando, San Antonio, Milwaukee, and Toledo.
