Man Charged With Stealing Rare Coins, Jewelry In Waterford: Police
A man was charged with stealing a large amount of rare coins and jewelry from a Waterford resident, according to police.
EAST LYME, CT — A man was charged with stealing a large amount of rare coins and jewelry from a Waterford resident, according to a police statement. Steven Wisneiwski, 38, with a last known address of Waterford, was charged with first-degree larceny.
Police said the investigation began Oct. 4 when they responded to a theft complaint. The Investigative Service Division was assigned to assist in the investigation. Detectives processed the scene of the crime for fingerprint and DNA evidence. They also obtained images of the stolen items.
The investigation led to the partial recovery of some of the stolen items. Police said they connected Wisneiwski to the crime and obtained an arrest warrant Wednesday afternoon.

Wisneiwski was taken into custody in East Lyme. He was held on $100,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Thursday.
