Man Charged In Waterford Bank Robbery: Police

Police have charged a man accused of robbing a bank in June.

WATERFORD, CT — Police have charged a man in connection with a June bank robbery in Waterford, according to a police statement. Michael Macy, 48, of Manchester, was charged with second-degree robbery and third-degree larceny.

Police responded June 18 at 10:55 a.m. on a report of a robbery at the People's United Bank at 716 Broad St. Police received a description of a suspect and began a search with the K9 team, but the suspect was not found.

Police said a Waterford resident later notified them after seeing a man matching the description of the suspect. Officers responded, found the man, and identified him as the suspect.

When he was arrested, Macy was also charged with 10 counts of first-degree failure to report.

He was held on a combined $241,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Thursday.
