Man Led Troopers On I-95 Chase In Waterford: State Police
An Essex man is facing charges that he drove under the influence and led police on a chase Tuesday night.
WATERFORD, CT — A man is accused of driving under the influence and leading police on a chase Tuesday. State police received multiple 911 calls reporting an erratic driver traveling southbound on I-95 over the Gold Star Bridge from Waterford into New London at 9:39 p.m.
Responding troopers caught up to the vehicle, a 2008 Saturn Aura Xe, and saw the car failing to stay in its lane.
When troopers attempted to pull over the Saturn, the driver fled for about a mile before being boxed in by troopers and brought to a stop, according to police. As troopers exited their vehicles, the driver attempted to flee by maneuvering around their cruisers.
