Motorcyclist Killed In I-395 Crash In Waterford: State Police

A motorcyclist is dead following a two-vehicle accident on I-395 in Waterford on Monday morning.

WATERFORD, CT — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on I-395 Monday morning. State police responded to the accident at 11:30 a.m.

A gray Ford Fiesta was driving south on I-395 about half a mile south of Exit 2 in Waterford. The Fiesta slowed down with the flow of traffic.

A Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling south on I-395 behind the Fiesta and struck it in the rear. The driver, Marc Pennino, 60, of Monroe, was thrown from the motorcycle, according to state police.

He was not wearing a helmet. Pennino was transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead.

The Fiesta's driver was not injured.

The highway remained closed for several hours while police investigated, state police tweeted. Both vehicles were towed from the scene of the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
