Multiple Victims In Waterford Speedbowl Crash

At least two people were hospitalized following a wreck at the Waterford Speedbowl Sunday night.

WATERFORD, CT — At least two people were hospitalized following a crash at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl track Sunday night, FOX 61 reported. A video of the wreck on Facebook showed a car losing control, going up on two wheels, crashing into a fence, then continuing down the track and rolling over while spectators flee.

The crash occurred during a NASCAR SK Modified division race.

The Speedbowl posted on Facebook that "everyone involved in the incident will be okay."

The crash occurred at 7:45 p.m. with an initial report of a multi-car wreck with drivers requiring extrication, according to The New London Day. The accident damaged a large part of the fence.

Police told The Day that the victims' injuries did not appear to be severe when they were taken to the hospital.
