New Community Service Officer Sought by Waterford Police

The Waterford Police is looking to hire for the civilian position of Community Service Officer (CSO).

WATERFORD, CT - The Waterford Police is looking to hire for the civilian position of Community Service Officer (CSO). Community Service Officers are part time employees appointed to supplement the regular police force.

CSO's will assist the department carrying out its mission by fulfilling any role that does not require a weapon and law enforcement powers to accomplish. The position has many responsibilities to include being a point of contact for citizens who come to the police department, completing fingerprinting for civilian and criminal matters, searching, checking, and monitoring people in police custody, as well as data entry and filing.

The position is and has been a stepping stone for people interested in a career in law enforcement. Applications can be picked up at the Human Resources Department of the Waterford Town Hall M-F between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The agency will be looking to hire CSO's for 24-hour coverage the shifts are days, evenings, and late nights.
