Update: Power Outages Continue to Plague New London County

Update: Utility company Eversource is reporting that as of about 3:45 p.m. Friday, thousands of its customers throughout New London County are still without power, part of outages affecting more than 51,000 customers throughout the state.

• Ledyard more than 3,200 customers are without power
• Waterford more than 700 without power
• The Lymes more than 4,6000 without power
• Stonington and North Stonington more than 2,200 without power
• Montville more than 3,900 without power
• Groton more than 1,500 without power

Only 7 customers in New London are without power.

Eversource officials say outages are mainly caused by the heavy, wet snow bringing down trees, limbs and wires.

Killingly has the most outages in the state with more than 5,200 customers without power.
