New London Man Charged In Waterford Jewelry Store Theft: Police
A New London man has been charged in connection with the theft of more than $10,000 worth of jewelry from a Waterford shop.
WATERFORD, CT — A New London man has been charged in connection with the theft of more than $10,000 worth of jewelry from a Waterford shop, according to a police statement. Miguel Hernandez, 36, was charged with second-degree larceny.
The case began Sept. 5, when police responded to reports of a "distraction style theft" from the Kay's Jewelry Store in the Crystal Mall. A police and Office of Adult Probation investigation connected Hernandez to the crime and an arrest warrant was obtained, according to police.
Hernandez was arrested Thursday morning. He was held on $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Friday.
