Obituary: Jenny Carol Cramer, 71, Of Waterford

Jenny Carol Cramer, 71, of Waterford, died Sunday at home surrounded by her family after a short but valiant battle with cancer.
Born in Bridgeport, CT, June 17, 1946 to the late John and Ethel Schwartz Kraemer, she was a graduate of the Norwich Free Academy, American International College and earned a masters degree in education from the University of Connecticut.

Upon graduation she taught in the Norwich school system for four years before leaving to raise her family of three children. She married Edward Cramer at Beth Jacob Synagogue in Norwich on Feb. 28, 1971.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Cramer, daughters Alyssa Cohen (Matthew) of Westport, CT, Erika Spano (Christopher) of Chatham, N.J., son Jonathan Cramer (Lauren) of Wilton,CT, and grandchildren Hannah and Ella Cohen, Evan and Jaxon Cramer and Abigail Spano.
Active in the Southeastern Connecticut Community, Jenny served as President of the Auxiliary of the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital and the Sisterhood of Congregation Beth El, and played leadership roles in the parents associations of Pine Point School and The Williams School.
She was a life member of Hadassah, member of the L.A.M.B.S., and was co-owner of The Party Connection for the past twenty years. In recognition of her community service involvement, the New London Rotary Club awarded her a club honored Paul Harris Service Award.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 14, at Temple Emanu-El (29 Dayton Road, Waterford) with interment at Norwich Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery in Preston. Shiva will be observed at 22 Alewife Road on Wednesday following the service until 9 p.m., Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Please do not send flowers.
