Obituary: Peter Roach, 36

Heaven has gained another Angel. Peter Roach was born May 23, 1982 and died suddenly surrounded by his beloved rescue dogs Cassius and Tucker on September 13, 2018. He was the son of Dr. Forrest A. Roach, Jr. who was a Veterinarian and preceded him in death and Marsha L. Roach who he resided with in Branford, CT until his death.

He is survived by one brother Joseph Roach and his wife Joan who resides in Canton MA, two Sisters, Erin Nelson and her husband John who resides in Munster, IN and Katy Gomes and her husband, Julio who also lived with Pete in Branford CT, five nieces, Juliana Nelson, Katy Nelson, Amelia Nelson, Grayce Gomes and Reyna Gomes and four nephews, Griffin Roach, Dylan Roach, John Nelson and Mason Gomes, as well as many cousins, uncle, and aunts. Peter was a 2001 graduate of Waterford High School, Waterford, CT.

He loved music and dogs and would have rescued every dog who needed a home if he could have. He had a big heart and a wacky sense of humor. Although he lived a life challenged with multiple disabilities, he never complained nor asked “why me” but instead was always upbeat, using humor to navigate this complicated world, showed love and compassion for everyone, especially dogs and loved playing with his nephew Mason and nieces Grayce and Reyna.

He always had a humorous one-liner comment for everything that happened which always made you laugh. He was a member St John Bosco Parish, Branford, CT.A memorial mass for Peter will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 731 Main Street, Branford, CT at 4 PM on Friday, September 21, 2018 followed by a celebration of his life reception at Donovan’s Reef, Branford, CT.
