Obituary: Rosalia 'Rose' C. Deurloo, 89, of Waterford

WATERFORD, CT — Rosalia "Rose" C. Deurloo, 89, of Waterford passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Rose was born in Delft Holland where she grew up.

She met her loving husband Gerrit Deurloo, they were married and immigrated to Waterford, CT where they raised their family. She enjoyed all types of needle work and was a wonderful wife and mother.

Rose is predeceased by her husband Gerrit in 1998. Rose is survived by her two daughters and two son-in-laws, Melinda and Richard Roberts of North Port, FL, Debbie and John Peabody of Waterford, CT. She has 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, along with her loyal companion Coco and her loving caregiver Mary Groves.

Rose was a comminicant of St. Paul church and a member of the St. Paul Crafters.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home (48 Grand Street, Niantic). A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11 o'clock at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
