Over 20 Pounds of Marijuana Seized on I-95 Traffic Stop in Waterford
Police said a vehicle search yielded more than 20 pounds of marijuana in separate vacuum sealed bags.

NEW LONDON, CT – Police announced Tuesday they had arrested a Massachusetts woman on a number of drug-related charges during a traffic stop.
Police said Betsy Cardozo, 25, of Dorchester, Mass., was arrested and charged with illegal possession, transportation, distribution and/or sale of marijuana. She was also charged with possession of less than one half ounce of marijuana and reckless driving following a traffic stop on Interstate 95 in Waterford.
The suspect had been traveling 89 mph in a posted 55 mph zone through New London into Waterford prior to the stop, according to police. A strong odor of marijuana in the vehicle and admission from Cardozo to using marijuana earlier led to a search of the vehicle which yielded approximately 20.6 pounds of marijuana in separate vacuum sealed bags.
