Police Release 911 Audio of Sen. Andrew Maynard's Wrong-Way Crash in Waterford
Maynard was driving in the wrong direction on Route 32 in Waterford on Jan. 14 when he crashed into another car, injuring both drivers.

In the 911 tape of the wrong-way crash of state Sen. Andrew Maynard, the caller describes Maynard‘s car as going “over the divider into the oncoming traffic,” according to a report in The Day.
The publication filed a Freedom of Information request for the audio, which Waterford police released.
Questions remain about the accident, which injured Maynard and Uncasville resident Laury Benjamin-Scelfo, who was driving when Maynard’s car struck hers. The crash remains under investigation; Maynard has yet to publicly address the incident.
