Police Search For Con Artists Who Scammed Waterford Victim
A victim provided cash in a scheme where con artists told a victim they needed bail money for a relative.
WATERFORD, CT — Police are reporting that scammers have targeted Waterford residents, according to a police Facebook post. Police said a victim received a series of phone calls alleging that one of their relatives needed bail money.
A man later showed up to the house and the victim was scammed out of a significant amount of money.
However, police said the driver was working through a delivery service and was unaware of the scam. He is now cooperating with the investigation.
