Skunk Attacks Dog; Tests Positive for Rabies in East Lyme
Waterford-East Lyme Animal Control is urging residents to report any wild animals that seem aggressive or acting "drunk."

A skunk tested positive for rabies in the area of Fairhaven Road in East Lyme, Waterford-East Lyme Animal Control reported Tuesday, Oct. 27.
“After attacking a dog in its kennel, a skunk was shot and removed for testing at the state lab,” Animal Control said. “The skunk tested positive for this deadly disease. Please make sure your pets are vaccinated against rabies. Report any wild animal that appears aggressive or ‘drunk’ to the police or animal control.”
