Soul Sound Revue Brings Motown, Funk And R&B To Waterford Beach Park

Soul Sound Revue opens July in Waterford with Motown, funk and R&B at the Summer Concert Series.

WATERFORD, CT — Waterford Beach Park is getting a midweek jolt of soul, rhythm and dancing shoes.

Soul Sound Revue will perform Wednesday, July 1, as part of the 2026 Waterford Summer Concert Series. The free outdoor series is held Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at Waterford Beach Park, 305 Great Neck Road.

The July 1 concert brings Motown, funk and R&B to the shoreline, giving residents a chance to trade the workweek routine for horns, harmonies and a little beachside dancing. Soul Sound Revue’s sound is built around classic dance music, with songs inspired by the soul and funk traditions of the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s, along with more recent crowd favorites.

The setting should do its part, too. Concertgoers can bring lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic, then settle in near the water as the park turns into an open-air dance floor. The show is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., making it an easy after-work outing for families, neighbors and anyone looking to start July with live music.

Soul Sound Revue is scheduled to perform from 6 to 8 p.m., according to the band’s concert calendar.
