The Spotlight Cabaret - Songs from Broadway in a Special Intimate Setting

WATERFORDrama, the drama program at Waterford High School, proudly presents The Spotlight Cabaret. The show will take the stage November 17-19 at 7:00pm in the Waterford High School Auditorium. The production follows the recent success of the play, The Mental State, and is the second show of the 2016-2017 season, a year in which the group will be mounting 5 productions.
The Spotlight Cabaret is a wonderful and intimate evening consisting of some of Broadway’s greatest songs performed by some of the talented students of WATERFORDrama. The audience will be seated around tables on stage as the performers sing songs right next to them. When the performers aren’t singing they will be serving the audience desserts and drinks in an attempt to recreate the feeling of an old time Cabaret-style show.
“This is our fifth time doing our cabaret and it has been a huge success in so many ways,” said Shane Valle, Director. “We wanted to find a way to showcase some of the talented singer/actors that we have here at Waterford High and we wanted to do it in a fun way for the kids. This experience is very different for them primarily because the audience is right there with them on the stage. We’re taking our huge auditorium and offering about a tenth of the amount off seats. It’s going to be a great experience for the performers and the audience members that are lucky enough to get one of the hundred tickets available each night.”

Directed by Valle, and musically directed by Mike McCarthy, the 13 person cast includes: Dominic Bruno, Isabel Cavalieri, Rachel Dondero, Jonathan Dryden-Jaffe, Elizabeth Dusza, Natalie Frascarelli, Nathaniel Hillyer, Michael Macesker, Kayla Mathiowetz, Matt McKinzie, Nina Pezzello, Angela Su, and Isabel Umland.
